         From Mesopotamia to Iraq not a lot has changed except names and power. Get your torches because you are about to get brighter.

 

Development of city-states began. Do you have a bicycle or vehicle They all have wheels because of Mesopotamia. Do you think your parents

         People began creating civilizations to make it easier to survive and protect themselves. As people began living together, they had

 

individual job roles creating division of labor.  Sumerians had to build around temples. The people were crammed tight into their houses. The

 

people were self contained within walls. Throughout Mesopotamia there were Independent Cities. Each city had a king and a god.

 

         We don’t know who made the wheel?  Mesopotamia was the first ever known to invent the wheels the wheels they made were out of

 

wood. Over 550 years old, 3500 B.C.M, The wheel was discovered in Mesopotamia.

 

     King Gilgemesh was first was told around market place. Written down as one of the first Epics in history. There were lower case stories

 

telling poems. He was One-Third human, Two-Thirds god.

 

     In Ancient Mesopotamia Hammurabi was famous for his 282 laws scribled in stone tablets. Hammurabi was the King of Babylon. He

 

developed the oldest written laws in history. This was prospered long before the Bible. One of Hammurabi’s laws were, An Eye for an Eye

 

that means that if a man shall take an eye of a man the eye of the man who took the eye will have his taken too.

 

         A Chariot had One person as a driver and One person as a fighter.  A lot of their weapons were javelins and bow and arrows. It was a

 

light vehicle that could carry two to three people wood and animal skin was used to make the chariots.

 

          A Exodus occurs when many people leave an area. It occurred twice in Ancient times. It has rules and laws. God called Abraham to

 

lead his people to the promised land to the land of Canaan. Moses Lead his people out of Egypt because they were slavied by their king

 

    Iraq and Mesopotamia are not that different  .  Development of city-states began, wheels were invented, kings ruled the land led by beliefs,

 

and the gods guided their culture. There are many secrets buried in the darkness and light of Ancient Mesopotamia.
